I’ve been drawing as long as I could hold a pencil. I can’t even really remember what drew me (pun intended) to drawing to begin with, but I basically went from copying cartoons out of the paper, to drawing realistic people from magazines, to attempting photorealism (which I still do today).
I draw people that inspire me, make me laugh, make me listen, and make me think. Instead of striving for photorealism, I prefer to combine realism with bringing out the soul and spirit in my subjects. I was merely given the ability when I showed up here – and I’m not really sure why, other than to make people to feel something.
